Three Important Dates

1607 Cross erected at Cape Henry, and America dedicated to God. Founding of first permanent settlement in Jamestown, May 14, 1607.

1620 Pilgrims crossed Atlantic Ocean on the Mayflower. “Mayflower Compact” written, first time in history free and equal men created their own government.

1630 Puritans streamed into Massachusetts establishing Salem and Boston. John Winthrop’s “A Model of Christian Charity” became foundational document for New England charters and constitutions.
